HotOS 2023 will take place on the campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. The main sessions will be in the auditorium in MacMillan Hall (MacMillan 117), with some other events taking place in the Center for Information Technology (CIT) across the courtyard and elsewhere in the vincinity on campus.
Please see the table below for the cost of attendance for students, ACM/SIGOPS members, and non-members.
Type | Early bird (until June 1, 2023) | Late (after June 1, 2023) |
---|---|---|
Student | $299 | $299 |
ACM/SIGOPS Member | $399 | $499 |
Non-Member | $499 | $599 |
We are organizing HotOS on the Brown campus, and access to university facilities allows us to keep reservation fees moderate, especially for students. However, thanks to generous industry sponsorship, we are able to support a small number of student travel grants; if you are a student and the cost of attendance is a concern for you, please fill in this form.
We have negotiated room blocks at attractive rates at two Providence hotels within 15-min walking distance of the venue on Brown's campus: the Hotel Providence and the Aloft Providence.
Hotel Providence ($179/night) is a small, boutique hotel in a historic building in downtown
Providence. From the hotel, you cross the Providence River, walk up the hill towards the Van Winkle
gates into Brown's campus, cross the main green, and make your way to the conference venue.
The hotel is conveniently located for the Providence railway station (which is on the Northeast corridor)
and a 15 minute drive from Rhode Island T.F. Green airport.

(please book by May 22,
2023 to secure the group rate).
The Aloft Providence Hotel ($229/night) is located right across the river and Providence's new pedestrian bridge (which was built in place of an old interstate I-95 bridge) from the Brown campus. You cross the river, walk up the hill and along scenic Benefit Street to reach the back Brown's campus and the conference venue. Click here to reserve your room. (Please book by June 1, 2023 to secure the group rate.)
Please stay at one of these two hotels if you can, since HotOS has contracted room blocks and will be charged for unused rooms.
